An emotional portrait, a social critique and a passionate plea for human equality, this 1989 film is a vérité feast. In archival excerpts from over one hundred sources and nine different countries, Baldwin shares his message with first-person urgency: exploring what it means to be born black, impoverished, gay and gifted – in a world that has yet to understand that “all men are brothers.”

The John Brown Project had the distinct honor of being featured at the Black History Film Festival in Washington D.C. on February 10th at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema!
The purpose of the film festival is to broaden audiences’ narrative of African American contributions to America’s history. The film festival screens documentaries of unsung African American heroes that aren’t often discussed in history books or revered during Black History Month.
Heaven gained one heck of a marvelous person! Our community has lost one of its champions.
Wibo was a friend, a colleague and a co-host of the CT Views broadcast. His contribution to our show was immeasurable and his friendship was a bright spot to our lives. He will be truly missed by the City Views family and by the Torrington community.
Our condolences to the family of Wibo Boles. He was truly the spark that kept the home fires blazing.
